Almost all plant-based milks are made of unsaturated fats. Coconut milk is the only milk with an equivalent amount of MCT healthy fats that are in cow’s milk. MCTs, also known as medium-chain triglycerides, break down faster in your body and act as a faster source of energy than long chain triglycerides.
Nootz offers high doses of magnesium, manganese, potassium and other minerals. Electrolytes boost the consumer’s energy.
Sourcing organic tropical fruits is one of the most challenging aspects of the Nootz journey. Pesticides are common in the fruit sector. Stringent testing and good farm practices assure the Nootz consumer a chemical-free product and a soil free of pesticide leaching.
Each of our ingredients carry a story of agronomical craftsmanship that takes into account soil, rainfall, sunfall, wind and other climatic conditions. At Nootz, we use the Red Lady papaya variety which has a hardy skin and helps reduce post-harvest losses. It provides earlier and more consistent yields throughout the year, manageable “dwarf size” trees and an improved ability to fight off pests. It is also a great intercrop in our regenerative model.
One of Nootz core missions is to reduce food wastage. Post-harvest loss in mango, pineapple, passionfruit, papaya and other fruits in Sri Lanka is in excess of 30% as per United Nations Food Agricultural Organisation estimates. Nootz sourcing and storage practices directly combat this problem.
